Practice Questions by Topics

Secondary 3 Additional Mathematics is almost entirely new content, and each topic depends on the one before it: surds and indices, then exponential and logarithmic functions and linear law; polynomials, partial fractions and the nature of roots of quadratics; binomial expansion; coordinate geometry of circles; and trigonometry with the unit circle and identities. Students who lose the thread in Term 2 find Secondary 4 very hard, so the time to fix a weak topic is now.

Each paper below is a short set of essential questions for one topic. Work through it without notes, mark it, and if a paper goes badly, go back to the topic before it: an exponential or logarithm problem usually fails on indices, and a circle problem on coordinate geometry.

Work through these Secondary 3 A-Math questions to identify areas where you may need additional support. If you're short on time and already know which concepts are challenging for you, focus your practice on those specific topics that require the most attention.
