English tuition from Primary 1 to General Paper
English is the subject parents most often say their child "just needs to read more" for, and the one where marks are hardest to move without feedback. Composition, comprehension and oral all improve with the same loop: write or speak, get specific corrections, try again. That loop is what our small classes are built around.
At primary level we cover all four PSLE papers: situational and continuous writing, grammar and vocabulary, comprehension with open-ended questions, listening and oral. At secondary level the focus shifts to expository and argumentative essays, summary writing, comprehension with inference and the oral stimulus-based conversation for the O Level. At JC level we teach General Paper: building a bank of examples, writing a clear argument in 90 minutes and handling the comprehension paper's application question.
Each level below lists what our lessons cover in content and in skills. Lessons are 1.5 hours at primary, 1.5 to 2 hours at secondary and 2 hours for GP, in small groups at Woodlands, Admiralty, Choa Chu Kang and Yishun.

Junior College 2Questions parents ask about English
By marking every piece of writing in detail and making the student fix it. Students learn a planning routine (characters, setting, problem, resolution for narratives; stand, reasons, examples for arguments), build a stock of precise vocabulary, and practise the openings and endings that markers reward. Over a term the corrections get shorter, which is how you know it is working.
Yes. Reading aloud and stimulus-based conversation are practised in class from Primary 3 onwards, with the tutor giving the kind of prompts the examiner uses. Oral is the paper where a few weeks of practice moves the grade the most, because most students have never been corrected on it.
Two things: content and craft. Content means a bank of current examples on the common themes (technology, media, environment, politics, Singapore). Craft means structuring an essay under time, writing comprehension answers in your own words, and tackling the application question with a clear evaluation. Lessons alternate between the two, with a timed essay or paper every few weeks.
Weekday afternoons and evenings (2pm to 10pm) and weekends (9am to 7pm). The timetable differs by centre and changes as classes fill, so we do not publish it. Message the centre with the level and subject and we will send the current slots.
Yes. A free trial lesson is available to new students who book one in advance. Book the trial online or message the centre on WhatsApp with the level and subject, and we will place your child in a suitable class.
