What Primary 2 tuition at EduZ covers
Primary 2 extends everything from P1 and adds the first real stretch: longer comprehension passages, multiplication and division, and Chinese passages with far more characters. It is also the last year before Science and before weighted assessments begin in Primary 3, so a solid P2 makes the next year much easier.
Our P2 English lessons work on grammar, vocabulary and writing a short, well-ordered story. Maths lessons cover numbers to 1000, the four operations, fractions, time, money and simple word problems, with model drawing introduced so it is familiar by P3. Chinese lessons build reading fluency, sentence construction and oral confidence.
Lessons are 1.5 hours in a small group. Parents get a progress note after every lesson.

Our P2 English focuses on the proper use of tenses for various scenarios and the introduction of synonyms and idioms to expand their vocabulary.
Skills and Techniques
Students learn to analyse the meaning in short stories, poems and letters while practising sentence writing for composition. Additional practice to speak English during class will continue to hone their verbal skills.

P2 Chinese builds upon the basics and enhance the link between Chinese and their daily activities.

P2 Chinese exposure to composition and reading comprehension which expand their Chinese word bank.
Skills and Techniques
Basic composition writing skills, oral test components are taught. Furthermore, students will have additional practice to read and write Chinese text as they learn identify, learn and apply sentence structures.

Content Mastery
Our P2 Math explores more advanced concept in numbers and mathematical equations, while using numbers up to 1000. Topics involving mass, volume and fractions will also be introduced to prepare students for P3.
Skills and Techniques
Crucial presentation skills are taught to students to instil a good writing habit from young. Rectification of any misconceptions is also important in P2 to ensure students have an accurate understanding of mathematics.

By the end of P2 we want students reading longer passages on their own, handling word problems with a model drawing, and recognising enough Chinese characters to read a short passage without help. Those three skills are what Primary 3 assumes, so our P2 lessons build them deliberately in the second half of the year.
Yes, and P2 is a good time to catch up. Our Chinese tutors start from where the child is, with Hanyu Pinyin, character recognition and simple conversation, and build up to the school's reading and writing tasks. Students who do not speak Mandarin at home get extra speaking practice in class.
Primary classes are $150 to $180 for four lessons of 1.5 hours each, depending on the subject. There is no registration fee and no material fee. If your child takes two subjects you get $20 off, and three or more subjects get $60 off. The full table is on the fees page.
Classes run on weekday afternoons and evenings (2pm to 10pm) and on weekends (9am to 7pm). The timetable differs by centre and changes as classes fill, so we do not publish it. Message the centre on WhatsApp with your child's level and subject and we will send you the current slots.
Yes. A free trial lesson is available to new students who book one in advance. Book the trial online or message the centre on WhatsApp, and we will place your child in the right class for their level and subject.
