Junior College 2 Tuition
Finishing the syllabus and revising for the A Levels
What JC2 A Level tuition at EduZ covers
JC2 finishes the A Level syllabus by the middle of the year and then turns to revision, with the preliminary exams in September and the A Level papers from late October to November. Because the syllabus is so large, the difference between a B and an A is usually exam technique: choosing the right method quickly, writing answers that hit the marking points and managing time across a long paper.
We teach General Paper, H1 and H2 Mathematics (the remaining pure maths topics, then probability, distributions, sampling and hypothesis testing, correlation and regression), H1 and H2 Physics, H1 and H2 Chemistry and H1 and H2 Economics. Lessons work through past-year and prelim papers from the JCs, with model answers and marking schemes.
Lessons are 2 hours in a small group, with a progress note after each lesson. Our A Level students have achieved A or B in 93% of the subjects they took with us.

General Paper (GP)
Our JC2 GP aims to strengthen students’ understanding of current affairs even further and focuses on using appropriate tone and style to the context, task, and audience. Emphasis will be placed on the construction of cogent arguments and formulate informed and insightful personal responses.
Content & Language Mastery
In the second year, emphasis will be on strengthening students’ understanding of current affairs and trends as well as gain ample practice with 'A' level question types. Key components of the paper covered includes composition, comprehension, summary and application questions.
Skills and Techniques
In the second year, students are taught to master their critical evaluation and reasoning skills for written text, while also organising and supporting arguments in a coherent and logical manner to substantiate arguments.
Revision and Reinforcement
In the second year, revision will be focused on mastering the individual H1 GP paper requirements and honing time management skills through practice tests in simulated exam conditions. Discussion on key topics will be held to build students’ repository of general knowledge.

H1/H2 Math
In the second year, emphasis is placed on the revision of pure mathematics and introduction to new statistics concepts. Revision for the entire ‘A’ Level syllabus will be carried out in the later half of the year.
Content Mastery
In the second year, our JC math focuses on statistical mathematics. In H1, topics such as computation of probability, binomial and normal distributions, sampling, and hypothesis testing as well as correlation and regression are covered. JC2 H2 math is highly similar with an additional topic in general and specific discrete distribution models.
Skills and Techniques
In the second year, we prioritise tutorials questions involving real-world situations that combines the knowledge of multiple concepts. We also practice using the GC for answering of statistics-related questions and learn to identify question trends and marking criteria through commonly tested exam questions.
Revision and Reinforcement
In the second year, revision will be focused on mastering all the H1/2 Math topics through topical revision packages. Examination skills such as time management and error analysis will be honed through practice tests.

H1/H2 Chemistry
Our JC2 topics will be a continuation of the ‘A’ Level Chemistry syllabus. Revision for the entire ‘A’ Level syllabus will be conducted in the later half of the year.
Content Mastery
JC2 H1 Chemistry continue to touch on organic chemistry topics on halogens, carboxylic acid, hydroxy derivatives at a reduced level. H1 syllabus ends with the easier topics on polymer chemistry and nanomaterials while H2 Chemistry continues to explore electrochemistry and transition elements.
Skills and Techniques
In the second year, identification of topics and question requirements will still be a priority, along with practising ample examination questions for exposure.
Revision and Reinforcement
In the second year, revision will be focused on mastering all the H1/2 Chemistry topics through topical revision packages. Examination skills such as time management and error analysis will be honed through practice tests.

H1/H2 Physics
Our JC2 topics will be a continuation of the ‘A’ Level Chemistry syllabus. Revision for the entire ‘A’ Level syllabus will be conducted in the later half of the year.
Content Mastery
In JC2, Electricity and Magnetism as well as Modern Physics will be covered and revision for the final exams will commence. H1 Physics students will learn selected topics from these themes while H2 students will learn the entire syllabus.
Skills and Techniques
In the second year, identification of topics and question requirements will still be a priority, along with practising ample examination questions for exposure.
Revision and Reinforcement

H1/H2 Economics
JC2 syllabus will progress to macroeconomics analysis (national level). Extensive use of real-world examples and exposure to case-study analysis to prepare students for their final examinations.
Content Mastery
In the second year, H1 Economics students will cover basic macroeconomics analysis like Aggregate Demand, Aggregate Supply, Standard of Living, as well as 3 out of the 4 macroeconomic aims. H2 Economics focuses on macroeconomics analysis, international trade and globalisation. It provides an overview of the workings and linkages of the national and international economy. In addition, the impact of external trends and developments on the domestic regional and global economies, and their implications for policy choices and decisions of governments, are discussed.
Skills and Techniques
In the second year, carry-over writing, analytical and essay writing skills will be applied to the new topics taught. These skills will be refined as more practice questions are performed under timed situations. Links between the first year and second year topic will also be made clear.
Revision and Reinforcement
In the second year, revision will be focused on mastering all the H1/2 Economics topics through topical revision packages. Examination skills such as time management and error analysis will be honed through practice tests.

JC1 lessons teach content as the school covers it. JC2 lessons finish the syllabus early and then revise by topic across both years, using past A Level and prelim questions. Every lesson includes timed questions that are marked against the marking scheme, so students learn what examiners reward.
Yes, if the prelim results show one or two subjects dragging the rank points down. There are still six to eight weeks before the A Level papers, which is enough for focused revision of the topics that lost marks. Message us with the prelim grades and we will tell you honestly what can be done in the time.
Junior College classes are $320 for four lessons of 2 hours each. There is no registration fee and no material fee. If your child takes two subjects you get $20 off, and three or more subjects get $60 off. The full table is on the fees page.
Classes run on weekday afternoons and evenings (2pm to 10pm) and on weekends (9am to 7pm). The timetable differs by centre and changes as classes fill, so we do not publish it. Message the centre on WhatsApp with your child's level and subject and we will send you the current slots.
Yes. A free trial lesson is available to new students who book one in advance. Book the trial online or message the centre on WhatsApp, and we will place your child in the right class for their level and subject.
Try a lesson before you decide
JC2 classes run at our four centres in Woodlands, Admiralty, Choa Chu Kang and Yishun. Tell us your child's school and subjects and we will suggest a class, or book a free trial lesson and see how it goes.
