Primary 1 Tuition
English, Maths and Chinese for the first year of primary school
What Primary 1 tuition at EduZ covers
Primary 1 is the year a child learns how school works: sitting through a lesson, following instructions in English, reading on their own and writing numbers and words neatly. There are no weighted exams in Primary 1 and Primary 2, so the goal of our P1 classes is confidence and good habits, not test scores.
We teach English, Maths and Chinese at this level. English lessons work on phonics, sentence structure and simple comprehension. Maths lessons build number sense with numbers to 100, addition and subtraction, shapes, length, time and money. Chinese lessons cover Hanyu Pinyin, character writing and speaking in full sentences.
Each lesson is 1.5 hours in a small group, with a short progress note to parents after class. P1 classes run at all four centres in Woodlands, Admiralty, Choa Chu Kang and Yishun.

Not every child does. Tuition helps most when a child is still shaky in reading, finds Chinese hard because it is not spoken at home, or needs more practice than a class of 30 allows. A weekly small-group lesson gives them that practice with a tutor who notices gaps early, before Primary 3 and 4 when the syllabus speeds up.
A 1.5-hour lesson mixes short teaching segments with worksheets and reading or speaking practice, because six and seven year olds learn best in short bursts. The tutor checks each child's work during the lesson and sends parents a note on what was covered and what to practise at home.
Primary classes are $150 to $180 for four lessons of 1.5 hours each, depending on the subject. There is no registration fee and no material fee. If your child takes two subjects you get $20 off, and three or more subjects get $60 off. The full table is on the fees page.
Classes run on weekday afternoons and evenings (2pm to 10pm) and on weekends (9am to 7pm). The timetable differs by centre and changes as classes fill, so we do not publish it. Message the centre on WhatsApp with your child's level and subject and we will send you the current slots.
Yes. A free trial lesson is available to new students who book one in advance. Book the trial online or message the centre on WhatsApp, and we will place your child in the right class for their level and subject.
