Junior College 1 Tuition

From the jump in content to the promotional exams

What JC1 tuition at EduZ covers

The step from O Levels to the A Level syllabus is the largest in a student's school life. JC1 covers roughly half of a two-year syllabus in each H2 subject, lectures move faster than classroom teaching, and the promotional exams at the end of the year decide whether a student moves on to JC2. Students who treat JC1 as a settling-in year often find out too late.

We teach General Paper (essay and comprehension, including the application question), H1 and H2 Mathematics (functions, graphs, sequences and series, vectors, differentiation and integration, and the start of statistics), H1 and H2 Physics, H1 and H2 Chemistry, H1 and H2 Economics (micro and macroeconomics, essays and case studies) and H1 Chinese.

Lessons are 2 hours in a small group, with a progress note after each lesson. Our tutors include former JC and school teachers who have taught this syllabus in the classroom.

Questions parents ask about Junior College 1

What is the difference between H1 and H2?

H2 is the full subject, with about twice the content and lesson time of H1, and it is what universities look at for related degrees. H1 covers a narrower set of topics in less depth. Most students take three H2 subjects and one H1, plus General Paper and Project Work. The grades are converted to rank points for university admission, so a weak H2 subject is costly.
